An advocate is a person who represents another person’s interests. I will take time to get to know you and your goals for treatment. With this information, I can better support you in speaking on your behalf. In the medical field, many times, there are words used that you may not understand. How does one stand up for themselves if they don’t have the medical expertise?

Navigates
To navigate is to guide you through your cancer journey with ease. Due to my extensive oncology experience, I can assess your individual needs and provide support in those areas. With my background working in three different health systems and twelve outpatient oncology infusion centers, I have the experience to inform your care.

Collaborates
You may be wondering … Who do I talk to? What do I ask?
I plan to close the gap between you and your healthcare team using open and honest communication.

Educates
You don’t know what you don’t know. What did my doctor say? Often your doctor’s visit is shorter than you need - you’re anxious or forget to ask certain questions during your visit. You may ask your resourceful, yet busy, nurses for information and get a different answer each time. This can get extremely confusing!
I am your one-stop shop for simplified, current, and accurate information. All this while in the comfort of your own home, allowing for better understanding and knowledge retention. If I don’t have the answer, I will find it.

Relates
Being a cancer survivor myself, I do understand. Although each experience is unique, like you, having been through multiple surgeries and chemotherapy puts me at a new level of perception. All the book knowledge or work experience in the world has no comparison.
